Ex-Sony, Naughty Dog & Infinity Ward Veterans Announce 'Crossfire' For Xbox Series X|S

One of the games that you might have glossed over a little bit in today's Summer Game Fest 2026 Showcase was Crossfire, which is a new action-adventure / shooter game coming to Xbox Series X and S in the future.

What's particularly interesting about this one is that it's being developed by a new studio called "That's No Moon", the three leaders of which have worked at the likes of Sony, Naughty Dog, Infinity Ward and EA in the past.

For example, here's a look at the history of two of the co-founders:

"With more than 30 years of experience, Tina Kowalewski is the Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder of That's No Moon. She is a pioneer of the games industry, having helped launch the original PlayStation as part of Sony's gaming division and oversaw development of acclaimed games like Journey, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, Twisted Metal, and more as Director of Product Development at Sony's Santa Monica Studio."

"Taylor Kurosaki is the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of That’s No Moon and is the Creative Director on That’s No Moon debut project. Previously, he was Studio Narrative Director at Infinity Ward leading blockbuster titles like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and Call of Duty Warzone (2020)... he would go on to be credited as one of the earliest members of the award-winning team at Naughty Dog, having served as Lead Game Designer on Crash Bandicoot and Narrative Design Lead on acclaimed titles such as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception."

We're expecting good things from Crossfire, then, and the debut trailer (which you can watch up above) certainly looks promising. There's also an Xbox Store page for the game live right now, so you can go and wishlist it if you want to.

No release date for this one yet, but we'll leave you with more details and screenshots below.

Layla, a gun-for-hire, is on a reconnaissance contract in the Atlas Mountains that quickly devolves into a harrowing struggle she cannot overcome alone. Cross is an opposing operator, trained, lethal, and the last person Layla would choose to trust. But trust isn't the point. Making it out alive is. Fighting for survival and their own humanity, the pair's fraught alliance is the only chance at overcoming the existential threat ahead.
