Happy LEGO Batman day! May 22nd marks the official release of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight following its early access launch on Tuesday, with the game now available to buy for £59.99 / $69.99 on the Xbox Store.
If you're thinking of picking it up for the weekend and wondering how the game performs on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, we've got a early comparison courtesy of Fuzion Xbox Testing on YouTube to share down below.
On Xbox Series X, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has two visual modes in the form of "Fidelity" and "Performance". Both of these output at 4K, but utilise Dynamic Resolution Scaling to ensure the frame rate remains smooth at 30FPS and 60FPS respectively. And yes, those frame rates are very smooth — we didn't spot any drops in this footage whatsoever, and the channel describes LEGO Batman as the best-looking LEGO game yet.
On Xbox Series S, there's only the one mode that reportedly outputs at 1080p and runs at a native 720p. It still looks good, but the big disappointment here is that you're restricted to 30FPS, albeit a very stable 30FPS. Here's hoping they might be able to add 60FPS somewhere down the line for this game, but in the meantime you'll still get plenty of enjoyment out of it on Xbox Series S if you go in with the right expectations.
We'll leave you with both of Fuzion Xbox Testing's videos on LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight down below, and as mentioned, the game is officially available to play for all owners (not just the Deluxe Edition) as of today!
