At the end of last month, Microsoft revealed fresh details on its Xbox Games Showcase featuring Gears of War: E-Day Direct, and now exec Matt Booty has revealed just how much of the new Gears game we're going to see in roughly two months' time.
While talking about planning for the show, Booty said that "we're going to have a full 30 minutes of stuff to see" for the Gears of War: E-Day Direct - which after how secretive The Coalition has been with this game so far, is music to our ears.
"We've got the Gears Direct coming, and after seeing that, we've probably got like a full 30 minutes - which is really great. I love everybody at that studio, the work they're doing, I'm excited about the game - we're going to have a full 30 minutes of stuff to see..."
Of course, we're also getting the main 2026 Xbox Games Showcase right before that as well - something that Booty & co. have just spent a "seven hour meeting" locking in and getting finalised for the big day.
"Yesterday, we reviewed all of the trailers for the upcoming showcase - it's probably one of my favourite meetings of the year. It's just really cool to see [...] it's a reflection of all the work that the teams are doing,"
Things are progressing nicely for Xbox's big summer show then, and you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be here to cover all of the big reveals coming out of the showcase. A metric ton of new Xbox trailers alongside a full half an hour of Gears: E-Day? Bring it on!
