Hot on the heels of its successful Resident Evil Requiem release, Capcom has confirmed that a story expansion is in the works for its ninth mainline Resi game, with development now underway on the upcoming DLC.
Director Koshi Nakanishi confirmed the news on social media (thanks, Nintendo Life), adding that the expansion will "delve deeper into the world of Requiem" when it arrives for Xbox Series X|S and other platforms.

In addition to the news about this story expansion, Nakanishi also confirmed that Photo Mode is coming to the game soon, and a 'minigame' of sorts will come to Requiem in May 2026. This could be the series' infamous Mercenaries mode, but that's not been confirmed at this time.
In terms of a date for the main story expansion, it's probably safe to assume that it won't be released just yet. Resident Evil Requiem's narrative DLC will "take some time" to build, but we'll definitely be here for it when it does arrive. If it's anything like the core game, we'll be ecstatic!
