We weren't expecting any Xbox Game Pass additions on the day of the Xbox Developer Direct except perhaps a shadow drop at the event itself (which didn't happen), but instead we ended up getting two surprise PC Game Pass titles!

These are some absolute classics as well, with The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 both arriving on PC Game Pass via the EA Play program. They're available to play right now, and they're loaded with a bunch of expansion packs each.

Here's a look at how these two games are showing up on the Xbox PC app right now:

Xbox Has Just Quietly Added Two Sims Classics To PC Game Pass 5

In terms of those expansion packs, The Sims 1 comes with the Livin' Large, House Party, Hot Date, Vacation, Unleashed, Superstar and Makin' Magic expansions, while The Sims 2 comes with the University, Nightlife, Open For Business, Pets, Bon Voyage, Seasons, FreeTime, Apartment Life, Holiday Party Pack, Family Fun Stuff, Glamour Life Stuff, Happy Holiday Stuff, Celebration! Stuff, H&M Fashion Stuff, Teen Style Stuff, Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff and Mansion & Garden Stuff expansions. Phew!

Both of these games were obviously released in a pre-Windows 10 and 11 era as well, so they've since been optimised for newer systems in order to run correctly. You can even play them on your ROG Xbox Ally handheld if you want to, although it might be best to hook up an external mouse at the very least — it'll be a bit finicky without it!

We'll leave you with some more details and screenshots for these new PC Game Pass releases below.

The game you know and love. For Windows 10/11. In The Sims 1, create a neighborhood of Sims and guide their lives — or create chaos with open-ended gameplay that lets you shape their destinies. In The Sims 2, you direct your Sims. Give them a long, successful existence or leave their lives in shambles. Guide their characteristics from one generation to the next.
