Back in August of 2023, horror adventure game Fort Solis made its debut on PS5 and PC as an ambitious Unreal Engine 5 title starring voice actors Roger Clark (Red Dead Redemption) and Troy Baker (Indiana Jones and the Great Circle), but it unfortunately released to some pretty lukewarm reviews with an average of 60 on Metacritic.

Now, we're finally getting an Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S version on December 19th, and even though the reviews might not be that amazing for it, we're definitely intrigued by what we're seeing. The visuals look stunning, the story seems interesting at the very least, and it seems there's a wide range of impressions about it overall.

For example, GameSpot gave it a 7/10, God is a Geek gave it 8/10, and our sister site Push Square gave it a 5/10. The Steam reviews are "Mixed" as well — everyone seems to have a different opinion about this game!

Fort Solis puts you in the shoes of engineer Jack Leary who travels to a mining base on Mars to search for a missing crew. The story is told across four chapters, and keep in mind that the narrative is absolutely the main focus here - it's a game that's often been described as a "walking simulator", putting a big focus on atmosphere and artistic detail.

This is one we're keen to check out on December 19th, and we think the price will be somewhere around $20-25 on Xbox. We'll throw some more details about the game along with screenshots below.

"Responding to an unusual alarm call from a remote mining base, Jack arrives at the dark and desolate Fort Solis. With storm warnings imminent, he heads inside to make desperate contact. As the night grows longer, events escalate, spiral out of control and the mystery of what happened to the crew begins to reveal itself. The storms is approching, limiting Jack’s escape as he looks to hold out until morning arrives."

"Fort Solis looks to deliver a high-fidelity experience designed to completely immerse the player in the cast and their long night. With performances from Roger Clark, Troy Baker and Julia Brown, Fort Solis looks to deliver emotion, fear, empathy and much more with every chapter."
