As part of yesterday's Sony State of Play event, Square Enix announced a free demo for its upcoming RPG Octopath Traveler 0 - and the demo is now live on Xbox Series X|S!
Players can go hands on with up to three hours of gameplay here, or certain opening chapters if they end up finishing those first. We'll throw Square's description of the content in this free demo down below:
"It lets you play through the opening of the game, the first chapter of three different story arcs from the Retribution story and the first chapter of the Restoration story - or for three hours. Whichever comes first."
What's more, your progress from this free trial does indeed carry over to the main game; which arrives for Xbox on December 4th, 2025. Unfortunately, Octopath Traveler 0 isn't on Xbox Game Pass at launch - unlike the other two games in the series which are available on XGP through January 2026.
