Last week, Rockstar delayed GTA 6 once again — this time to November next year — and Cyberpunk 2077 dev CD Projekt RED has put out an ominous reminder that delaying your game is probably a good idea if it needs extra dev time.
If you cast your mind back to the CP77 launch back in late 2020, the game was in an extremely rough state when it arrived, with numerous bugs and issues. At the time, it had already been delayed multiple times, so CDPR doubled down on getting it out the door back then. They've now hinted that this was a mistake in hindsight, reminding Rockstar of their ill-fated move in a response to the GTA delay:
It's good to see CDPR not rip up the history books regarding Cyberpunk 2077; the game might be in great shape these days, but it was once a buggy mess that fans put money down for, and it's right to remember that. Here's hoping that the history books back up Rockstar's move in delaying GTA 6 to next November.
In terms of what CDPR is working on nowadays, well, we know that The Witcher 4 is well into development - while a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is also in its very early stages. We'd guess that the team won't be rushing either of these games to market in the wake of past titles, and with this recent reminder regarding Rockstar and GTA 6.
