It's no secret that Battlefield 6 has had some hype behind it after years of the series not quite hitting the mainstream mark - but an early sales report shows just how well the game is doing right now, including on Xbox Series X and S consoles.
The folks over at Alinea Analytics are back again this week with a big report on Battlefield 6 and its commercial debut. The headline news here is that the game has reportedly sold more than 6.5 million copies already, and that's "through its first few days" according to Alinea estimates.
"After years of missteps, the Battlefield series is back with a frankly outrageous commercial debut, with over 6.5 million units sold through in its first few days across PC and console, as per our estimates.
That translates to more than $350M in gross revenue, putting Battlefield 6 in the conversation with the year’s – no, the generation’s – biggest launches."
What's more, the outlet has also provided some rough platform splits for this sales figure - and the Xbox version stacks up pretty well. Despite a much lower install base, the Series X|S version has reportedly sold 1.2 million copies (19.6% of the share), compared with 1.5 million on PS5 and 3.5 million on Steam.
The report added a little note on this higher-than-usual Xbox sales share:
"On console, Xbox’s high share of players relative to its lower installed base isn’t too surprising. After all, Battlefield has a longstanding history on Xbox – and the platform’s early-adopting players are often drawn to new shooters."
The rest of the analytics dive deep into BF6 player habits, Twitch numbers and what's next for the EA shooter, so if you want to read up on everything relating to this new Battlefield title, feel fee to check out the full report.
