Xbox is treating us to another special "demo fest" next week via the ID@Xbox program, with over 40 upcoming games set to receive playable versions on the Xbox Store from September 9th to September 30th.
They're keeping most of the details under wraps for now, but we do know of four games that will be featured in the list - and those are Echo Weaver, Mina the Hollower, The Jackbox Party Pack 11 and Yooka-Replayee.
Here's a bit of what Xbox is saying about the event:
"Exciting news – Indie Selects is bringing you a monster new Demo Fest next week. From September 9-30, players on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One can dive into more than 40 demos, including upcoming titles and games with new content. Whether you’re eager to try something new or get a sneak peek at games coming in future, this demo event is one you won’t want to miss!"
As usual, the idea behind this "ID@Xbox Indie Selects Demo Fest" is to provide early glimpses at games that are still very much in development, so most of the demos will actually disappear at the end of September.
We'll be back on September 9th with the full list of titles, but for now, here are more details on those four games:
Echo Weaver
A time loop metroidBRAINia where time is your best resource and secrets are your only upgrades. You're the last of the Weavers, a remnant of a ruined society trapped in a glitching time loop. Explore what remains. Uncover the mystery. Perfect the loop.
Mina The Hollower
Take control of Mina, a renowned Hollower hurtled into a desperate mission to rescue a cursed island. Whip foes, burrow through the ground, and explore a pixel-perfect world in Mina the Hollower, a brand new game from the developers who brought you Shovel Knight!
The Jackbox Party Pack 11
The pack is back! The Jackbox Party Pack 11 transports your game night with 5 new games! Destroy wholesome jokes in Doominate, record your voice in Hear Say, create kookiness in Cookie Haus, sleuth through social clues in Suspectives, and collaborate with your crew in Legends of Trivia!
Yooka-Replayee
Embark on an epic open-world 3D platforming collectathon adventure with Yooka and Laylee! The search for Pagies starts anew in Yooka-Replaylee, the enhanced definitive version of the beloved indie darling with all new challenges, secrets, mechanics, and accessibility options.

I beat Yooka-Laylee 100%. It can't hold a candle to Banjo-Kazooie, but I'm willing to try the demo of the remaster, which I don't consider necessary if it only improves the graphics and adds skins. I'm not sure what else it does.
I dropped out of both Yooka games, but this reimagining seems to be addressing some of my issues. I'll check it out.
Mina the Hollower demo is amazing! I hope it also has 120fps on Series
Awesome. I’ve been wanting to play a demo for Yooka Replaylee. I never played the original, but I thought it looked good. Sound like this release fixes a lot of the issues, so count me in.
Definitely Yooke demo for sure.
I'll check out Mina for sure. Maybe the Echo game as well, I was not aware of that one before this article, but it sounds interesting
Mina the Hollower looks badass
@jesse_dylan when I'm playing a demo, if I decide I'm really into it I'll immediately stop playing and wait for the full game. Unless it's Mina the Hollower, which I had to tear myself away from. It's preposterously good.
This is a great program, Ive always believed a demo is the only way to know if a game is for you.
Ive bought several games this year because I tried them on a demo, it does sell games.
@Markatron84 Yeah that's me too, and if I know I'm gonna play a game, I don't bother with the demo (unless it's different from the game... or I want a head start and it carries over, which usually I don't care about). Is the Mina demo on there yet?? I saw a ton of demos but didn't see that one.
@jesse_dylan I played it during either the most recent Steam Next Fest or the one prior. Sorry, I shouldn't have got your hopes up there; my bad 🤣 It's worth the wait though, honestly. It's going to have me glued to the Steam Deck (if I can stop playing Vampire Survivors, which is my current obsession).
@Markatron84 That's okay! I can wait! Honestly, if it's that awesome (which I actually have no doubt it is), I should probably just skip the demo and buy the damn thing as soon as it's out. I liked Shovel Knight (and spent way too much backing it and buying it multiple times), but I think I'll like Mina even more.
