Of course, now that the general public have been hands on with the game for a few days too, there are plenty of other early impressions floating around the web. In that case, we thought we'd gather some of those up here for you to take a look at.
Before we do though, we thought it worth mentioning just how popular this beta has been for the team. On Steam , Battlefield 6 hit over 520k concurrent players - which is a series record, more than quadrupling Battlefield 2042 numbers. That 500k+ number is also bigger than any Call of Duty launch on the platform, beating out 2022's Modern Warfare 2 which fell just short of the 500k mark. It should be noted that the BF6 beta is free, of course.
‘Battlefield 6’ beta has beaten Call of Duty's all-time player count record on Steam 🎮
• COD’s peak — 491,670 players
• Battlefield 6’s peak — 500K+ players

Anyway, onto some of those other impressions from the Battlefield 6 beta:
"At the moment though, while everything is new and exciting, it’s all good fun. Familiar and yet taking full advantage of modern hardware, in a way that feels like a major step forward for the franchise, if not the genre as a whole. If you end up playing it this weekend, or later in the month, we think you’re really going to enjoy it. How anyone is going to feel about it in the weeks after though we really couldn’t say."
"Out of the three Conquest maps available during the beta, I can safely say this is the most fun I have had in a Battlefield game since Battlefield 3, which was my first significant Battlefield experience. Battlefield 6 feels like a nice mixture between BF3 and BF4, but with a nice fresh coat of paint, drastically improved sound design, and, of course, unmatched destruction. Before getting into the specifics, I can say there is much, much more good here than bad, with only a few minor critiques so far."
AcctAlreadyTaken (Reddit ):
"I am very much having fun and enjoying it, I haven't had that feeling of awe I experienced at peak BF but I understand this is still just a beta. But I want to see it running with dog fights over head, tanks pushing and battling, helicopter dropping troops, and firefights everywhere!!! I just haven't seen that full chaos yet. I plan on buying but won't pre-order."
JodouKast (Reddit ):
"Fun and smooth tbh. Day one had a few issues but has been great since. Finished all the challenges today and gonna take a break until next weekend. It sucks having to wait now because progress will get wiped and I don’t want to grind stuff again. Good sign I want to keep playing though."
Before we head out here, we did want to mention that some folks have been reporting crashes on the Xbox version of the beta, but we ourselves haven't experienced that here at PX HQ. Hopefully weekend two (full launch times in the guide down below) is a smoother one for all, but generally speaking, folks seem really rather impressed with Battlefield 6 so far. Hopefully it stays that way for the full game!
