Xbox Announces Gamescom Livestream Schedule For August 2025

Xbox has today detailed its plans for Gamescom 2025 - next month's mammoth gaming convention taking place in Cologne, Germany. The big news is that Microsoft is hosting two livestreams straight from the Xbox booth, featuring detailed looks at upcoming first and third-party releases.

Some of the games already confirmed for these broadcasts include Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Keeper, Ninja Gaiden 4 and The Outer Worlds 2 - among others. The team says to expect "first-look gameplay, developer interviews, new trailers, updates, and more" during these two livestreams, which take place on the Wednesday and Thursday of Gamescom week.

Here are the exact dates and times for Xbox's Gamescom 2025 livestreams:

Xbox @ Gamescom Broadcast 1: 6am PT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST on Wednesday, August 20th (Featuring the ROG Xbox Ally handhelds, Grounded 2, Keeper, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and more).

Xbox @ Gamescom Broadcast 2: 6am PT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST on Thursday, August 21st (Featuring Ninja Gaiden 4, Overwatch 2, The Outer Worlds 2, and more).

In addition to these two Xbox broadcasts, the Bethesda team will also be livestreaming throughout the event. You can expect three days of Bethesda livestreams featuring "developer interviews, game showcases, community segments, crafting highlights, and live IRL tours". Those will begin on Friday, August 22nd, with specific timings to follow.

Finally, if you're going to be at the Xbox booth in-person next month, the team has also provided a list of third-party games that will join the above first-party titles at Gamescom 2025. Here's that initial list, with "a couple more surprises" being kept under wraps for now:

This will probably be when we find out the release window (and consoles) for E-Day. I suspect it will be Fall 2026...

I remember the Gamescom before Starfield launched, like a few weeks before, watching the in person demo recording. They really paid some random non-gamers to over hype the game and say "Starfield is so effing awesome!" And I remember the skepticism on a lot of the Germans faces and voices 😂 the launch was good imo, I enjoyed the game a lot but it did not meet the hype that first week

@Fiendish-Beaver I think it will be all quiet on E-Day until next year tbh. Likely Developer Direct or even the summer showcase if they want to focus on new reveals at DD.

Gamescom is looking good though, and it's right around the launch of Gears: Reloaded too...

Hopefully a couple shadow drops on gamepass and some concrete gameplay of fable for this one!

@Ricky-Spanish I think we get a shadow drop too. I personally also think that given how poorly FF16 sold on Xbox (no surprise given that it's not really "FF" as we know it) that we may see that on GP at some point.

I tend to agree, @Kezelpaso. My only reason for thinking it might turn up at this show is that people keep telling us that E-Day is coming next year. If that is the case, then Microsoft usually do a 12 months lead up to the release of the game. Thus, actual gameplay is shown 12 months prior to its release. This happened with both 4 and 5. So, if it truly is coming Fall 2026, then it will be shown in either August or September this year. If it is a no show this year, then it is unlikely to be out next year.

Really, at this point, I no longer have any idea. There are so many conflicting rumours, it's difficult to know which one to latch on to...

I look forward to this show every year specifically to see what THQNORDIC is doing! It will be nice to see even more this year though
