Three Major Xbox Releases Were In The 'Top Cross-Platform Downloads' Last Week

The good folks over at Alinea Analytics have shared their best estimates for the top cross-platform downloads of last week (meaning Xbox, PlayStation and Steam), and it makes for pretty interesting reading.

It turns out the top spot went to EA Sports College Football 26, but only because its 10-hour EA Play trial was made available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members as well. The game had 1.9 million downloads across all platforms last week, which included twice as many on Xbox vs. PlayStation because of Game Pass.

Another game that benefited massively from Game Pass (at least in terms of downloads) was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4. That game apparently racked up 1.2 million downloads last week, with 69% of them being on Xbox. The sales data seems a bit confusing to us though - 100k people are said to have bought it last week on Steam and PlayStation, with no word on Xbox as of yet.

As you can see from that image, the third spot was taken by a game called PEAK, which we're hoping to see on Xbox at some point in the future - but it's PC-only for now. Cyberpunk 2077 made the list because of an inclusion in PlayStation Plus, as well as a recent heavy discount on Steam.

And finally, Mecha BREAK launched as an Xbox and PC exclusive to a lot of attention earlier this month, and last week it was downloaded 668,000 times (as a free-to-play title). Most of those downloads were on Steam, but 135,000 of them were on Xbox. It's had 600k players on Xbox to date, but its DAU and CCU numbers are said to be "declining rapidly".

There's more information in the analysis itself if you're interested, and ultimately we're not that surprised by anything here, but the top two spots just show how impactful Xbox Game Pass can be for racking up serious player numbers!
