At The Game Awards 2023, Xbox announced that Bethesda studio Arkane was making a Marvel's Blade game, and in the time since we've seen very little on the project - aside from some early concept art shared shortly after the show. It should be no surprise, then, to learn that the game has seemingly only just entered full production over at Microsoft.
As shared on social media, French studio Arkane has just released some updated financials on what's happening at the Dishonored developer right now. The report mentions that "the production phase of a AAA game project was launched at the end of 2024" - which almost certainly relates to Blade, as it's what the team has been working on since Deathloop shipped in 2021/2022.
With Blade seemingly in full production for less than a year, it stands to reason that we probably won't see this one ship on Xbox for a good few years yet. Hopefully, though, this news means that we might actually see what the game looks like at one of Xbox's showcases in the coming months and years - the team should have ample opportunity to show it off with how many different events are going on at Xbox these days.
Of course, this development timeline isn't to be mixed up with Redfall; another Arkane release that arrived in mid-2023. Xbox's co-op vampire shooter was actually developed by sister studio Arkane Austin - a team that was an unfortunate casualty of Microsoft's 2024 closures and cancellations.
