Xbox Is Still Committed To Bringing Call Of Duty To Switch 2, Confirms Activision

Nintendo Switch 2 is out. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has been announced. And yet, Xbox hasn't committed to launching anything on the new Nintendo system right now, apart from next month's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4. Well, Microsoft and Activision are still working to get the franchise on the platform, it's been confirmed.

In a statement released to IGN following the absence of any Switch logos on the Black Ops 7 trailer, Activision has said that everyone involved is still working to get the famous FPS franchise on Nintendo platforms. Here's the full statement:

"We’re committed to getting the franchise on Switch. Both teams are working on it. Will share details when ready."

Curiously, Activision hasn't committed to a specific version of the Switch here, but we'd assume the team is now focusing on Switch 2 as its Nintendo platform of choice. The OG Switch is woefully underpowered to run modern Call of Duty, so unless they go down the cloud streaming route or provide a significantly downgraded experience, we expect to see the series make its 'Switch' debut on Nintendo's recent successor.

If we hear anything else on COD heading over to Switch we'll of course let you know, but for now, the recently announced Black Ops 7 is coming to pretty much every other platform out there, including Xbox One, Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC.
