Stop us if you've heard this one before, but Xbox is doing really well right now. April 2025 was an incredible month for Microsoft as a gaming publisher, with multiple new releases selling extremely well across a variety of platforms.
As revealed by Mat Piscatella of analyst group Circana, two Xbox games were the best-selling titles across all of Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo and Steam in the US last month, and those were Oblivion Remastered and Forza Horizon 5.
Minecraft, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and even The Elder Scrolls Online weren't far behind either, resulting in a ridiculously good month for Microsoft overall. Here's a look at the top 20:
On PlayStation specifically, Xbox had five games in the top 10 best-sellers. There were only four of them on Xbox consoles (because of the absence of Forza Horizon 5), and The Elder Scrolls Online was actually #2 on Xbox!
You can check out Mat's long thread over on BlueSky if you're interested in more insight from him (it's pretty interesting stuff), but we'll leave you with one other bit of information to highlight - Xbox actually grew its hardware sales year-on-year in April! It feels like we never hear that anymore, but console sales jumped up by 8% last month.
