Former Game Pass Title Atomic Heart Has Been So Successful It's Spawned A New Publisher

Do y'all remember the bonkers soviet shooter Atomic Heart from back in 2023? Well, its Xbox Game Pass launch has helped contribute to 10 million players in just over two years - and the game has been that successful for developer Mundfish that it's opened a brand-new publisher as a result.

Mundfish Powerhouse, as it's known, is a "full-scale creative and operational partner" and "not a publishing arm" of the studio, the team insists. The publisher will "focus on fewer, bigger, bolder games, built to shake up the industry" - and we're definitely interested to see what comes out of this new venture.

Here's what CEO and founder of Mundfish, Robert Bagratuni, had to say on the move:

"For quite some time, studios and investors have been approaching us seeking support,

We’ve decided to make this direction official. Powerhouse will only partner with projects where we see great potential to make noise. Not just a handful of indie hits, but big and bold games that can set a new standard for quality and creative risk."

Alongside the announcement of this "boutique creative label built to support ambitious developers", the Mundfish CEO has also talked a little bit about the success of Atomic Heart itself and how the game came to life. We'll throw that quote down below as well:

"What started as a dream has become a reality beyond anything we imagined. Thanks to our team’s relentless dedication, bold vision, and unwavering focus on quality, we’ve achieved something truly special. We’re incredibly grateful to our players for their passion and support - it’s their enthusiasm that brought Atomic Heart to life,"

Unfortunately, Atomic Heart left Xbox Game Pass after roughly 18 months in the library, but when discounted, the game can be had for pretty cheap these days. And, despite some issues with the game's flow and overall structure, we can still recommend giving it a whirl if you're still interested.
