eFootball Delays Major Update To Spring 2022, Offers Refunds

Things are sadly going from bad to worse for Konami's eFootball 2022 right now, as following the highly negative reception it received at release back in late September, its first major update has now been postponed to Spring 2022.

This is the update that is essentially meant to turn the free-to-play experience from a glorified demo into a proper game, but Konami says it needs more time "to deliver an experience that our players deserve and expect".

As a result of this, the company is cancelling and refunding all orders of the eFootball 2022 Premium Player Pack bundle, which was previously available to purchase via the Microsoft Store. This will be handled automatically.

There is a bit of good news, however, as a new patch has gone live for the game today which attempts to fix a wide array of bugs. Full patch notes for this are available over at the official eFootball website.

"We are working as hard as possible to deliver an experience that our players expect and deserve by Spring 2022. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued patience."
