Dragon's Dogma 2 Is Currently In Development, Using RE Engine

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen has become something of a cult classic over the years. The fantasy RPG's audience has only risen since its launch back in 2012, and hopes for a sequel have grown over the years. News of a new entry seemingly leaked back in November last year (thanks GamesRadar), when Capcom suffered a massive data leak and several of its upcoming titles were allegedly revealed - Dragon's Dogma 2 being one of them, reportedly scheduled for 2022.

Today we have a bit information from one leaker who claims to know the engine that Dragon's Dogma 2 will be running on. According to Twitter user AestheticGamer, the game will be using the RE Engine - the one most commonly used for the Resident Evil titles. Not only that, but they also claim any Capcom game that isn't a port, remaster, or using another engine for a specific reason will be under the RE Engine in the future.

Capcom is set to make an appearance during E3 this year, so if the game is as close as claimed, we'll most likely hear something about it there. Fans have been clambering for a new entry for years and next year marks the 10th anniversary of the original Xbox 360 release. It seems like a perfect time to listen to the community and give them what they want.
