Players Who Had Their Inventory Wiped In Outriders Are About To Get A Nice Surprise

Outriders got hit with a nasty bug at launch which saw certain players’ inventories getting wiped. While the issue has seemingly been prevented from happening again, those affected are still yet to receive their old goods back. But it’s not all bad news, as it seems those players may be getting back equipment better than they had before.

In a recent update on Reddit, the team shared more details on the inventory restoration process. While there’s no set date, developer People Can Fly did reveal that when the items are restored, they “will have the same attribute combinations but with God Roll values”. As a result, restored items “will be at least the same if not better quality than the originally lost items”. Seems like a pretty good apology to us.

While it’s a shame the fix still doesn’t have a specific date, it’s great to know something is being done to sort it. The process is broken down into three groups. Those who have unplayable characters with an invalid inventory, characters that do not have an invalid Inventory but who have lost gear, and finally players that do not have an invalid Inventory and who have not lost gear.

Due to the extensive nature of each group, most notably the latter two, the restoration process “involves analysing every Outriders player profile in existence and scanning it for possible inventory corruption”. This is no easy task and pretty sound reason for why this is taking longer than expected.

The Reddit thread answers many questions and identifies many of the key problems players have faced, so we do recommend checking it out if you’re affected. Hopefully we’ll have an update soon, as we’re sure many of you are eager to jump back into the fray.
