505 Games Has Acquired The Ghostrunner IP

You may remember the first-person cyberpunk parkour game from last year known as Ghostrunner. It came out just before the next-gen systems dropped, and was really good - it even made one of our best games of 2020 lists. It seems 505 Games has seen potential in the franchise, as it’s acquired the IP for a gigantic €5 million.

As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, 505 Games worked on publishing the title with All In Games last year, but has now purchased the full stakes in the IP and owns it solely, along with "all licenses for the technological solutions used in the game."

The money is being said to flesh out All In Games’ upcoming library of titles, but the company will also continue to receive an undisclosed share of profits made from Ghostrunner’s sales. Apparently, 505 Games did originally attempt to compete against All In Games for the IP before the game's release, but "was not willing to pay the amount" expected.

We hope this signals that there's some hope for a future entry in this franchise. Ghostrunner is an incredibly addictive game that we recommend everyone seeks out. There's even a free demo out now to see what all the fuss is about, so no excuse.
