Recent Job Listing Isn't For An Unannounced Halo Game, Confirms 343

Update: Nevermind! 343 Industries community manager John Junyszek has chimed in on this discovery, confirming that the role is related to Halo Infinite, and not an unannounced Halo game as speculated.

"I did some digging and was able to confirm that this is a role for Halo Infinite. It's our standard boilerplate language for job listings."

Original story: Cast your mind all the way back to June of 2020, and you might remember that a job listing appeared on the Microsoft Careers website for a Senior Producer working on a "new project in the Halo universe".

Now, one of these adverts has cropped up again, this time for a Producer who again is said to be helping develop a new Halo project. The news has attracted quite a bit of attention since the advert was discovered on February 6th.

"343 Industries is looking for a Producer to help develop a new project in the Halo universe.  This is your chance to work on one of the most exciting and creative intellectual properties in the industry with one of the industry’s most talented teams."

Unfortunately, there's little else to go on in terms of details, so we could be looking at anything from post-launch Halo Infinite content to a spin-off such as Halo Wars 3. It's probably going to be a while before we find out for sure.

In the meantime, 343 Industries already has its hands busy with Halo Infinite, which is still currently scheduled to launch in Fall 2021. The studio has said it will be providing monthly updates on the game's progress throughout the year.
