Biomutant Dev 'Will See' About Xbox Series X Version In The Future

Developer Experiment 101 finally announced the release date for its excellent looking open-world RPG Biomutant earlier this week, but at the time it wasn't revealed as getting a specific Xbox Series X and S version.

Now, in an interview with IGN, the developer has explained that Biomutant will remain a last-gen game for now, with the PC edition being the "high-end" release, but things possibly could change in the future.

“There is a high-end version of Biomutant already made for PC high-end versions. I mean, the game already in some form exists in what you would expect on the current-gen platforms.”

“Are you going to be able to play it on [Xbox Series X]? Definitely. We will see moving forward what's going to happen, but you will definitely be able to play it on those consoles.”

Studio head Stefan Ljungqvist also revealed during the interview that Biomutant ended up having a 250,000 word script by the time it wrapped, and the team has been working hard at bug fixing over the past year.

Biomutant will officially arrive for Xbox One on May 25th, 2021, and while it's not yet available to pre-order at the Microsoft Store, two special collector's editions are available via the Biomutant website.
