If you've never heard of Ed Boon, you're probably not a big fighting game fan - he's the co-creator of the legendary Mortal Kombat series, and has also served as director on the two Injustice games.
Following the reveal of the Xbox Series S last week, Boon took to Twitter today to share his praise for the system, categorising it as a "high end and affordable" console that could ultimately be the best-selling next-gen Xbox:
These comments from Boon are particularly interesting given that his team likely has access to the Series S development kit already (it's been rumoured that NetherRealm is working on new games and/or enhanced ports for Mortal Kombat and Injustice), so it's good to see praise being sent the way of the new console.
But what do you think? Will the Xbox Series S outsell the Xbox Series X? Share your thoughts below.

@TheNewButler I think devs have overblown the memory thing out of proportion, the Series S has been designed for a target resolution and I agree will give Sony a run for its money. It could be the surprise hit if next gen and outsell the PS5 even!
I do think the Series S will outsell the Series X. Series X, much like the Xbox One X, is only going to be for the die-hard fans looking for the best possible Xbox experience.
The annual COD, FIFA, Madden, Fortnite gamer (with no brand loyalty) just wants to be able to play the latest version of their favorite game of choice at the lowest price possible.
Wonder how much of an effect xcloud could have on the series s after the first couple of years or so, especially in regard to streaming/storing assets to makes games perform better
@teknium_ I feel like a lot. They brought AAA console gaming, to my galaxy a20, over restaurant wifi. Not the best of hardware, either phone or connection. But imagine better hardware (series s), and a better connection (wired), and the experience could be tenfold. 3 yrs in, the most graphically intensive 4k game, could be streamed to the series s (maybe even the one x), in 4k, with little to no latency. Also, imagine pc games being playable on series x.
Great to hear Ed Boon say this. The XSS is gonna be a great console for a lot of people. That $299 price point was a very smart move in this economy.
I can see alot of Devs loving these lower cost digital-only boxes.
They stand to gain big-time, due to cutting out used game market.
But I'm not sure if most gamers should be celebrating. Too early to say.
@GamerDad66
Gamers who want a next-gen console for $299 & who don’t have a 4k TV will be celebrating.
And there are many millions of those people.
