Capcom has announced that a special edition of Devil May Cry 5 is coming to Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X at launch on November 10th (digitally), available for $39.99.
This version of the game will feature Dante's brother Vergil as a playable character, along with Turbo Mode allowing you to play at a faster speed, the Legendary Dark Knight difficulty setting, and ray-tracing.
According to the PlayStation Blog, the game will also feature multiple visual options on PS5 (we're assuming it's the same on Xbox Series X) including 4K at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps, and a High Framerate Mode targeting 120fps.
For current-gen players, Vergil will also be offered as paid DLC on Xbox One "at a later date."
Will you be picking up Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition at launch? Let us know below.

Thanks for confirming that this DLC is also coming to Xbox. Microsoft has been in a better relationship with Capcom and Square Enix lately.
@Z3u5000 DLC? lol atleast you have something new at a launch now Albeit "DLC"
@playstation_king Okay, mate. I gave you the benefit of the doubt in the other article, but now I'm convinced you really are trying to troll.
On topic though, I am disappointed that the DLC doesn't upgrade to the Series X version at least. I'm not paying 40 again, this is lame on Capcom's part.
It's starts.
Get ready to relive the experience of rebuying your fav modern Capcom games yet again with brand new 4/8K Remasters of;
Resident Evil 4
All the other Resident Evils from the past decade
Resident Evil 4
The Dead Rising games
Resident Evil 4
Okami
Resident Evil 4
Devil May Cry 1-4
And who can forget Resident Evil 4?
I love all of these graphic setting options! Hope more games do that moving forward; though it’s disappoint that the 4K mode is only 30fps. I think I’ll stick with the 60/120fps options.
Annoying the upgrade ain't free, just charge next gen upgraders for Vergil, but that looks very, very good.
@Nermannn I think we still have to hear what res and framerate will officially be on xbox. The ones listed are from the PS5 presentation. There is always a chance the XSX will be able to push 4k/60.
@Tharsman that’s a good point. It would be wild if there was that significant of a difference on day one, though it would secure Xbox as the premiere console for third party games.
@Nermannn I heard someone say something that muddied everything:
It's possible DMC V is a PS4/X One usual special edition, like Persona 5 Royale, that adds content and PSPro/OneX support for 4k/30 or 1080p/60, because there was a cryptic message that it would push 120fps in PS5. It's confusing (like the messaging in almost every trailer on that presentation)
@Tharsman well
I sure hope that’s true. At least 4K 60 seems doable on the Series X and PS5 for a last Gen game.
I'm confused by this. Since this isn't smart delivery it means we don't get an update on SeX, I presume. Does the DLC upgrade mean a reduced cost unlock to the updated content for existing V owners, or are we still stuck rebuying the game? Not that it won't be $15 within a year on sales, anyway...
