It looks like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be the next title to add to the 120 frames-per-second list on Xbox Series X, at least according to a new report published by VentureBeat.
The outlet suggests that the next-gen edition of the game will "play at 4K resolution and refresh rates at 120hz", although it isn't mentioned whether this will be limited to just one mode, or span the entire game.
Furthermore, it's mentioned that the Xbox Series X version will feature "seamless transitions between cinematics and gameplay" with faster loading times, along with a global illumination system that makes use of real-time ray tracing.
In case you missed yesterday's official announcement, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches on Xbox this November and is available to pre-order right now from the Microsoft Store in three different versions - a Standard Edition exclusively for Xbox One (but playable via backwards compatibility on Xbox Series X), along with Cross-Gen and Ultimate Editions that include an upgrade to the Xbox Series X version when it's released.

We have to wait for huge open dense world titles like Cyberpunk 2077 instead before coming into any conclusions.
I suspect the multiplayer will be 120fps with no ray tracing since that is where it will matter most - and there is less focus on the action-movie cinematic aspect of the main campaign.
Nice, i skipped the last couple Call Of Duty games. I'll definitely be picking this one up..
And how many series x and PS5 owners have a tv that can run true 120fps at 4K.
60fps at 4K is just fine.
Instead use all that extra power for more detailed environments, larger open worlds
And better AI.
WASTE OF THE CONSOLES POWER.
NO THAT TAKES LOTS OF TIME.
LETS JUST MAKE IT 120FPS AND CHARGE MORE.
Yeah. Push 4k 60fps no dips only. Don’t understand why devs are pushing even higher frames rates. At least show that these consoles can run 4k 60fps flawlessly first. Would prefer a 4k 60fps with all the rest of the power going towards better a.i, bigger worlds etc.
For most people the series x will display not much different to the current Xbox one because it’s down to your tv to display it, to get a tv that displays 4K at 120fps would cost upwards of £1,500, plus there’s not a tv available that will utilise all of the next gen specs, the closest you could get is with a gaming monitor.
