News Call Of Duty Adds New 'Classic' Matchmaking In Response To Black Ops 1 & 2 Ports

Older games just hit different!

Some would argue games were better back in the day, and as Season 5 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 rolls out with "a new matchmaking system" inspired by classic Black Ops titles, that statement might actually hold some truth, at least for today. In a post, the official Call of Duty Twitter account reflected on the...

News Digital Foundry Shares Its Initial Analysis Of Black Ops 1 For PS5 Vs. Xbox

"This is a deeply odd state of affairs"

We mentioned last night how Activision had released new ports of Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 for PlayStation consoles, and in the initial footage that was doing the rounds, it seemed like very little had changed compared to the original Xbox 360 (and PS3) releases from back in the 2010s.

News Black Ops 1 & 2 Now Live On PS5, Here's Some Early Footage Compared To Xbox

A surprise shadow drop

As you may have seen, the Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 ports have shadow dropped on PS5 (and PS4) today, and there already seems to be a ridiculous amount of interest in both of them on the platform. It's still very, very early days here, but we wanted to at least provide you with some early footage so you can...

News Xbox DLC Price Drop Ahead Of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 1 & 2 PS5 Ports

Captain Overpriced

It seems that PlayStation owners aren't keen on having to fork over $40 for a 16-year-old Call of Duty game without all the bells and whistles. Treyarch announced earlier this month that both Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 were finally being porte

News Treyarch Confuses Xbox Fans With Black Ops 1 & 2 Reveal For PS5

"The games are compromised on both Xbox and PC"

Last night, out of nowhere, Call of Duty: Black Ops developer Treyarch announced that Iron Galaxy would be porting the original Black Ops and Black Ops 2 to PS5 (and presumably PS4) in July, but didn't say anything about other platforms. As you're probably well aware, these two games already exist on...

News Call Of Duty Leads The Way In Xbox's Latest Backwards Compatibility Sales

The classic 360 games have been discounted

We don't always round up the backwards compatibility sales on Xbox these days, but we thought this week they deserved a special mention, as they include all the extremely popular Call of Duty titles from the Xbox 360 era. These games will probably hit Xbox Game Pass at some point in the not too distant...

News Xbox 360 Call Of Duty Titles See Huge Player Spikes Following Server Update

The classics are still poppin'

Last week, we caught wind that the folks over at Activision and their various Call of Duty studios had made some positive changes to how the old Xbox 360 games were running online, so naturally, we went back and had a look to see how things were going. As it turned out, online matchmaking did seem to have improved (we...
