Well we just heard about the PS4 although they didnt show the system or have a price point but we know its coming out this holiday season. So its probably a safe bet that Microsofts next system will be coming this holiday too. So when do you think they will make their big announcement? Next week? In a few days or maybe they are holding out to E3?
I hope its soon though so I can make my choice as to which other non Nintendo system I am going with this gen.
Edit: I change the thread name to reflect the possibility of MS's announcement in May for the 720.
I would suggest that they'll do something similar to the Xbox 360 Unveiled show they had on MTV back in the day, followed with a long old E3 conference that goes into more detail.

Word inside the industry is April. They might want us to forget about PS4, but announcing in April means that they can carry on the hype into E3, without having to get people excited about the machine again. Sony unfortunately, will have to pretty much start from scratch with regards to hype after presenting in February.

The only thing I can say about Sony is maybe it was a good thing that they didnt show the PS4 off. At least they saved that for E3.

Totally agree with that Rancid. Hopefully they will be smart with their presentation since they know what Nintendo is bringing to the table and have an idea with Sony. As of right now I am leaning toward the Xbox 720 unless they totally bomb their presentation or dont have any good games coming out at launch.

I think as long as Sony doesn't make any totally idiotic pricing decisions E3 is actually there for them to 'win.' I know I'll buy the next Xbox at some point for Halo 5 and 6 but I'm not sure MS has enough exclusives to compete.

I think it's totally up for grabs for both companies, if I'm honest. A lot of Microsoft's own studios have been working on top-secret stuff for a while. I think we're liable to see at least the next Halo, a new entry in the Project Gotham Racing series, new Kinect Sports and Dance Central maybe, Gears of War (potentially), plus whatever Lionhead are up to. Then there's that EA exclusivity deal that nobody knows much about yet.
MS has a bunch of stuff up its sleeve. I just can't wait for E3.
