So the game play footage for GTA V was released today.

I have to say I have never wanted to play a GTA game this bad before.  Much why I enjoyed Assassin's Creed III its all the side stuff that you can do between missions.

I think I will be reserving this game here today.

What about you guys anyone interested in this game?  What are your thoughts?

Feel free to discuss GTA V here.

Already pre-ordered. I wasn't the biggest fan of GTA IV but this one is very ambitious and seems like its taking itself a lot less seriously than IV did. If Rockstar pulls off what it wants to, this could be the defining game of this generation, though it will take a special effort to top The Last of Us.

I've had this preordered for a long time & paid off too if I'm not mistaken. I've been waiting for this forever practically.

Well I preordered it today.  I was hoping that it would come to the PS4 but the clerk told me only PS3 and 360.

I wish it was coming to PS4 as well, would've switched my pre-order from the PS3 version to the PS4 one in a second. I could see it making the jump later next year if Rockstar isn't busy with something else.

I am actually surprised that it isn't coming out for the Xbox One or the PS4.  A lot of big name games that are coming out around that times seem to be hitting all 4 (even 5) systems.  Look at like Assassin's Creed IV for example.  I am just wondering if this is maybe Rockstar's last big hurrah for this gen.

Still with the gameplay footage I have seen already this game is freakin gorgeous no matter what system you play it on.  I hope and I doubt I will be, I wont be disappointed with this game.

I'd bet good money that this will be released for PS4 and XO by the end of 2014. Probably announced at E3 2014, and released at some point in that lucrative pre-Christmas period once again.

I'd say that they'll wait for sales numbers from the consoles, and go from there.

On a side note, it looks absolutely amazing, and my preorder has been down for a LONG time.

You know I was just thinking about it with 3 protagonists in this game is there any word of maybe a two player mode?  Like where one can control one guy and the other can control the other on a split screen mode?  Cause this game would be just perfect for that.

Well, just like with the main game, GTA Online is very ambitious. I need to actually try it before commenting on it though. I will say it can only go two ways, it'll either be a massive success and help define multiplayer going forward, or it will be a complete disaster, hope it's the former.

Just got back from the store with my PS3 copy. Once it's done with the 8GB install, I will be playing this all night. Will post some thoughts in a couple days.

If tennis and golf weren't time consuming enough, I discovered darts today. There's just SO MUCH fun stuff to do! I'm terrified to see what GTA Online does to my life...

@DRL:  I know what you mean I spent easily 5 hours on tennis alone.  I haven't tried golf yet but I am sure that will consume some of my GTA time.

There's so much to do in this game it's ridiculous, but one thing I've noticed myself doing quite a bit, that I did back in the day in Vice City, is just drive and listen to some of the great songs. I don't know why there were some complaints about the soundtrack prior to release, there's a ton of great tracks in this, just like pretty much all GTA games. Other than that, I've played the hell out of the tennis mini-game, golf and I'm trying to get better at the street racing.

The game still has flawed gunplay and the controls for flying are beyond frustrating but those are really the only complaints I have everything else is done so brilliantly. The story is well done, I find Franklin and Michael to be likeable characters in that Tommy Vercetti/'Boss' from Saints Row kind of way, and the atmosphere in general is the awesome, laid back style of older games in the series, that I love, not like IV which was a bit too gritty and dark (even for a GTA) for my liking. The character switching, the one feature I was really worried about prior to release, is not convaluted like I feared could happen but instead very simple and keeps the game fresh. This is Rockstar at its absolute best and while the wait for a GTA to match VC was long, it was most definitely worth it. It's giving The Last of Us a real run for my GOTY vote.

This is easily topping Vice City as my favorite GTA game.  I like these characters alot more than previous GTA games well except for Tommy Vercetti.  I didnt care for Niko or CJ but I think that was because they were the stereotypical character.

Also the fact that there is so much to do is what is keeping me from getting bored of this game.  When I too have just at times found myself just driving around soaking up the sites.  I have just spent hours doing nothing story related, but unlike other GTA games where usually I end up doing stupid stunts like seeing if I can jump between buildings on a motorbike or seeing how many people I can beat up till I get arrested there is stuff I can do like golfing or tennis or  heck even take a ride on a ferriswheel.  Lol

@Gamer 83 - I'm in the same boat as you. As of right now I'm thinking GTA has the edge over The Last of Us simply because I find it more fun to play. I do love both games, though.

Has anyone found any sweet cars yet? I just stumbled onto a Rolls-Royce. Pretty pumped about that. Painted it Sunset Orange and thugged it out for Franklin.
