I figure this is a general thing and not just specific to me and my TV - but does anyone else sound sync go slightly out when switching their TV to game mode?

I've made peace with the fact the xbox one x and now series x lip sync will never be perfect. Stereo is fine but the more surround you add the longer the audio delay. So 5.1 mode delays the sound a little. and dolby atmos delays it even more.

But stereo is generally fine. Until I put my TV in game mode and the the image happens slightly before the sound. Makes sense, you're telling the TV to display the picture quicker for less latency. I just wish the sound synced with it.

Maybe its just something I'm super sensitive to? Does anyone find this?

May be completely different issue, but I had a lip-sync problem with Sky Q and Xbox when I got my Samsung TV and Atmos soundbar. Initially I had devices connected to the TV and TV to soundbar. This caused all sorts of (well documented on the interwebs) issues with lip sync. The 'delay audio' settings were nowhere near enough to fix it. In the end I had to connect Sky Q and Xbox to the soundbar directly, then TV to soundbar. This sorted the issue.

This might help you, it might not. Good luck either way.
