Playing this through for the first time, as I have Control and Alan Wake 2 lined up for this year, and want to play this first as they are shared world, I believe. As a huge twin peaks fan, I love the setting of this game, but good lord is it a slog. Really having to make myself sit down and play through this - 2 of 6 chapters down!

If it wasn't for the other Remedy games I am going to play later I'd probs have ditched this! Also had to drop it down to easy towards the end of chapter 2, finding it quite tough. Hoping this is just the janky controls, as I also have RE2-4 from a recent sale to play!! haha

It certainly is a little bit janky with the controls, mostly for the dodge mechanic which becomes a bit essential in some situations. Stick with it though!
Am a bit in love with it myself, as you said, the Twin Peaks comparison keeps it delightfully camp and amusing and it does nail the atmosphere/tone.
Eagerly awaiting a sale on Wake 2 before I jump in to it too!

Add me so I can pretend I have friends!

I have tried to play Alan Wake. Like you said it is a slog. I couldn't continue.

I made it through episode 2 and 3, then from episode 4 on, thoroughly enjoyed myself. Part was getting good at the combat, but mostly, there was lots of variety, in 4 and 5 in particular, plus sections with Barry and the Sheriff much more enjoyable than just walking through the woods, endlessly, haha! If they'd cut an hour from episodes 2 and 3, it would have helped!!

Picked up American Nightmare for £2.22 in the sale yesterday, so going to do that before I dive into Control
