Having not ridden a bike for years, it's with some trepidation that I've signed up for the Birmingham Bikeathon. I'm going to (attempt) to cycle 52 miles for the Bloodwise charity. They raise money for Blood Cancer research. I'm embarrassed to post this, but if anyone would like to donate, I'd be extremely grateful. Thanks @Red620Ti. It's part of my "New year, new me" plan...or as I call it "Goodbye Mr Fat B'stard". I've set myself a goal of losing 25Kg or about just under 4st in old money (yes I am THAT overweight). I'm currently swimming on Tuesdays and going to the gym twice a week, in conjunction with a diet plan tracking cals, carbs, sugar, salt and protein. I didn't realise this diet malarkey was so complicated! I've tracked 2 miles on the cycle machine (or spinning as it's now called ?!?) each gym visit, but I plan to get some proper miles in on a regular basis as soon as the weather picks up. Until then, we've just bought a mag-trainer to practice indoors.
Thanks again for your contribution (and faith in a middle-aged fat bloke!).

For us sad buggers that keep visiting Px, I completed the Bikeathon yesterday and today I am shattered. I think the energy gels/drinks had a bit too much caffeine as I've hardly slept! haha
Thanks to Stylon, Red and Des for sponsoring me.
