It's time for a Monday update!

I'm convinced Mondays are a bad weigh in day for me as I showed a much more impressive weight loss late last week. However, I am happy to report the following:

4.7lbs lost so far which is an average of 1.1lbs per week (on target)

Also, on Saturday, I ran continuously for 1.5 miles! That's AAAAAAGES! I wasn't able to run for more than a minute at a time a year ago so I'm really proud of my improvement!

How is everyone else getting on this week?

Thats brilliant, well done!

I'm not sure of weight loss yet (Wednesday is the weigh in day) but have been cycling 5 miles a day minimum after the car write off, so thats got to be helping! Also continuing to hit the gym, so hope to have good results.

Got a letter from the Uni of Nottingham this week saying that they are doing a study for people at risk of type 2 diabetes. Basically it seems they've trawled the doctors surgeries for details of fat blokes and sent the letters from there! I've signed as its a free monitored diet basically, for 3 years!

Well done Mega!
I forgot to do my weigh in this morning, so I will post tomorrow and hopefully the downward trend will have continued.

Thanks for your kind words guys!

Red - cycling to work makes a world of difference so well done! The study thing sounds good but it is a bit weird that they've tracked you down without you having signed up or anything!

These days doctors pass out your phone number willy nilly for 'research purposes'.
Well done to all you losers (weight wise 😀😀)

After a solid week of trimming the fats out (Mmmmm, potato chips and pizza... oh, how I long for thee). Hitting the doorframe pull-up bar (I highly recommend these), inverted push-up's, and nearly every lift known to man (I despise aerobics, only charity can get this guy running) in cross-training fashion...

I'm down a full 6 pounds! 168.8 baby! I'm also sore just about everywhere on this rest-day. Congratulations to everyone this week!

I Know, I used to regularly but that was the other side of a heart attack, kidney removal and a third of a lung......

Health issues are never fun, two weeks from now I'm scheduled to have both hands sliced open and things that shouldn't be there taken out. I literally put this off because the Master Chief Collection was releasing on the original surgery date. The most awful part is that they only will numb my hand with local anesthetics, but you can still "feel" every cut, and hear your own flesh being snipped. This will be the fifth and sixth surgery on my hands.

Well the gym went well. Had a 1 hour session and I'm feeling it now though. Basically I have 12 sessions at a reduced rate (and monitored) and then I can see if I want to continue.

@sorethumbed Nice one! I used to love going to the gym, just don't get the time or have the funds for it these days.

@sorethumbed Good on you man! I've known diversity and struggling with health issues since 7 years old. I have one of the rarest bone disorders within the literature, been dealing with it my entire life. Surgeries number 8,9&10 among all appendages, are scheduled for next week, both middle fingers and an ankle have un-classified fibrous growths. Positive news is that I've been accepted into a genome mapping initiative for rare diseases here in Canada, so in about 3 months I'll know exactly what I have... right down to the gene causing problems!

@Headestroyer, thank you. Hope the surgery goes well. I hate hospitals (lol spent enough time in them). Gene mapping is definitely the way of the future as long as the data is kept safe (out of the hands of insurance companies and employers). Let's hope that what you get is positive news!

I think if my middle fingers were out of action, I'd go nuts! Need them for all the bone headed drivers here who think a car and a cycle can occupy the same space at the same time..........

Seriously though, hope all goes well mate.

@Red620Ti

They'll actually be braced in the proper position to... use them within that context. I'll be inadvertently flipping everyone off for a couple weeks!

I will still game, right through the pain. Hoo-Rah! (no pain-killers for me, just an ample amount of Cuba's greatest product now manufactured in Puerto Rico... it will NEVER be gone, for those 2 weeks!)

For sure, I was so glad that this program went ahead and took many Canadians like myself who've been on an "if it happens" list. Lots of children will benefit from this and get proper diagnoses more accurate than ever available before. Knowing the frustration of a rare disease since childhood (it got re-diagnosed 3 times since 7yrs old, before it becoming an "as of yet unclassified genetic condition" in my 20's). I hope that mapping will become available in Canada to all children with genetic disorders within the next few years.

Hi there fitness fanatics!

So this week has been fairly terrible as it was my partner's birthday and then I was ill so I've had lots of excuses not to run/diet.

As a result I have gained back 2 lbs but I'm just goping to work a bit harder this week to bring that back down.

How has everyone else done this week?
