As we mentioned last week, there's been a free playtest on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (along with other platforms) for the upcoming Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds over the past few days, and it's actually not finished just yet.

If you still haven't had a chance to check it out, you can grab the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds - Open Network Test on the official Xbox website, and it'll remain playable until tomorrow morning at 12am ET / 5am BST.

Here's that original article where we talked about the CrossWorlds playtest last week:

Anyway, I've been playing some CrossWorlds and it's been pretty fun! The drifting mechanics feel good, the gimmick of switching courses mid-race is really cool and seems to work smoothly, online races are chaotic yet enjoyable and competitive to the last, and ultimately I think there's a lot to like about what Sonic Team is serving up here.

That's not to say there aren't some downsides as well though. I do feel like the racing in general, even though it's chaotic, seems quite slow. There's not really a feeling of high speed unless you're boosting, which is weird for a Sonic-based racing game. I also question whether it's got the longevity to command full price out of a casual Sonic racing fan such as myself.

But that's just me! What do you think of the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds playtest so far, and will you be playing it tonight before it disappears? Remember, once it's gone, it'll be a case of waiting until September 25th for the full release.

Go on then, what do you think of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds right now? Tell us in the comments below.
