Usually, it's around this time of year when the gaming calendar feels particularly light. Sure, February/March have become bigger months in recent years (especially when games get delayed from the previous year), but typically, it's a time that doesn't see many big releases in general. Capcom has been breaking that trend for years now though, and it looks like we're in for another one of their big AAA treats this month.

We're talking about Resident Evil Requiem, of course; the team's latest and greatest from its premiere horror franchise. The upcoming fright-fest makes its Xbox debut on February 27th, and thinking about blasting through the next RE game this month is getting us giddy already, despite there being almost four weeks until release.

In recent weeks, media on the game has been ramping up, including the recent reveal of Leon Kennedy gameplay; putting further spotlight on Requiem's dual protagonist setup. Honestly, this plan of attack from Capcom has us pretty intrigued for the final release, and we hope the studio can stick the landing on both gameplay styles rather than end up being a jack of all trades, master of none.

Anyway, you can read more about Leon and Requiem's unique structure down below - but if you'd like to watch some recent gameplay, IGN's final preview might be worth a look over as well. We've included it right at the top of this article, and it contains some fresh gameplay alongside the outlet's thoughts on the experience as we roll on to release.

Honestly though, we're just happy that Capcom keeps on delivering these early-year treats for us; it's almost become the norm at this point. Resident Evil 7, 2, 3 and 4 Remake, and Village all released in the first half of their respective launch years, and with how busy the Fall windows often get, we appreciate the company giving us breathing space like this. Whether by design or sheer luck, the team is turning RE into an early-year tradition, and we can't wait for this year's treat in the form of Resident Evil Requiem for Xbox Series X|S.
