Star Trek: Resurgence (Xbox Series X|S)

Dramatic Labs' Star Trek: Resurgence was meant to be with us a little sooner but got pushed back for a "lick of paint" last year. As a result Trekkies will now be able to blast into this all-new space adventure on the 13th of May.

Star Trek: Resurgence tells the story of two main protagonists, Jara Rydek and Carter Diaz as they get caught up in an epic war between two alien civilizations. Set shortly after the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the game is a narrative-driven affair full of dialogue choices, relationships and exploration. According to the devs, we can expect plenty of shuttle piloting, phaser fights, stealth and scanning of environments here too. Sounds like fans of the long-running sci-fi could be in for a bit of a treat in just a few weeks time and, with the team behind it made up of ex-Telltale Games staff, we can't help but have high hopes for this one.

Lego 2K Drive (Xbox Series X|S)

Judging by the popularity of Forza Horizon 4's LEGO Speed Champions DLC offerings, we reckon 2K are onto a winner with this recently announced arcade racer.

Lego 2K Drive sees players explore a huge open world in the form of Bricklandia, where they can build their own rides, race against friends in online and local co-op modes, jump into a campaign story and take part in all manner of cups and tournaments. The potential for creating your own wild vehicles has got us excited about this one and the fact they can transform to accommodate racing on tracks, off-road terrain and water has got us ready for some serious arcade funtimes when this colourful racer releases in May.

Amnesia: The Bunker (Xbox Series X|S)

The fourth installment in Frictional Games' hit horror franchise, Amnesia: The Bunker sees players delve deep into the terrors of a desolate WW1 fortification. You're gonna need to scavenge and creep your way through the darkness here, conserving supplies, crafting essentials and keeping your wits about you as you navigate untold nightmares that lurk in the shadows.

A semi-open world with a persistent threat stalking you through the dank environment is the order of the day here and, according to the devs, the choices you make as you struggle to survive affect the outcome of your playthrough. What we've seen so far looks suitably grim/terrifying, and we can't wait to scare ourselves silly when this one drops in just a few months time.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum (Xbox Series X|S)

Daedalic Entertainment's The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been on the horizon for a few years now, with Smeagol's stealthy adventures having first been announced back in 2020. The devs have stuck to a 2023 release date on this one and we're looking forward to getting stuck into its unique blend of freestyle parkour, platforming and stealth action. There's also that interesting Gollum/Smeagol personality split to consider here with choices to be made in dialogue as you seek to bypass your foes rather than run headlong into battles you could never stand a chance of winning. It's certainly an interesting premise, and the extended gameplay videos we've seen so far look pretty great, so fingers crossed it'll soon be in our hands, our precious.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League (Xbox Series X|S)

Rocksteady finally returns with its latest superhero effort in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, and the solo/co-op action here really couldn't look more different to the dark and brooding melee combat of the superlative Arkham games. Check out the official trailer and you'll see the squad get stuck into loud and colourful shooter action, teaming up against alien invaders and a roster of DC's greatest superheroes, and it's all set within a huge open world slice of Metropolis that it seems everyone is hellbent on destroying. There have been suggestions this one might get delayed soon, but for now it's still a May 2023 release.

Street Fighter 6 (Xbox Series X|S)

Do we really need to say anything here? The big daddy of fighting games is back and it's looking as though Street Fighter 6 is going to be one hell of a good time when it lands in June of 2023. Of course, this release is gonna be doubly sweet for us Xbox fans who missed out on Street Fighter 5 due to an exclusivity deal, so this is the first time we get to see all our old favourites, and a ton of newbies, get down and dirty since Street Fighter 4 launched all the way back in 2009! The trailer for this latest entry shows off the game's slick new art style and we genuinely couldn't be more pumped to get our hands on this one in just a few months' time.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom (Xbox Series X|S)

Are you chomping at the bit for more of The Elder Scrolls Online?

Zenimax Studios' MMO has gone from strength to strength over the years and has now become something of an essential experience for Elder Scrolls fans. This latest add-on, The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom, brings an all-new class in the form of the Arcanist, alongside a bunch of new zones to explore, new narrative campaign and a few new companions. You'll be charged with traversing the Telvanni Peninsula and exploring the secrets of the unfathomable realms of Apocrypha, which all sounds a little H.P Lovecraft to us, something that's backed up by the handful of screenshots we've been shown so far. We can't wait to jump back in.

Diablo IV (Xbox Series X|S)

Taking place in the direct aftermath of its excellent predecessor, Diablo IV looks set to continue serving up the very best in slick dungeon looting action, this time featuring all-new open world aspects and PvP interactions. Set in five different hellish locations and featuring five classes for players to choose from, everything we've seen from Diablo IV suggests a game that's set to give us everything this series does so well, in a bigger and more badass package than ever before. We can't wait to see how the open world element fits into the more traditional procedurally generated aspects of the dungeon-crawling here, but we've got no doubt Blizzard is more than capable of making it all sing. This is a game we expect to be playing on a loot-frenzied loop for a long, long time after it releases.

Aliens: Dark Descent (Xbox Series X|S)

A real-time strategy game set within a brand-new story in the iconic Aliens franchise? Looks like it's time to stop our grinnin' and drop our linen'!

Aliens: Dark Descent sees solo players lead a squad of soldiers into tense strategic battles as they attempt to stop a huge Xenomorph outbreak on Moon Lethe. With a story that sees you face off against not just the iconic Xenos, but rogue Weyland Yutani agents and other all-new monstrosities, this one looked suitably grim in its announcement trailer, which also gave us a glimpse of some visually spectacular levels that seem to point to impressively open play areas that should accommodate some ferocious rolling battles. We cannot wait to jump on this particular express elevator to hell sometime in 2023.

Crash Team Rumble (Xbox Series X|S)

Toys For Bob has done some cracking work on the Crash Bandicoot franchise in recent years with the sublime Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy showing just how well this team know what makes this long-running series tick.

Now the studio is treating us to an online multiplayer brawler and, from what we've seen so far, it looks like it could well be another winner. Crash Team Rumble sees players jump into team-based action as Crash and his pals in order to take on rival four-player teams in battles that see you fight to acquire the most Wumpa Fruit by the end of a round. There's skills and powers aplenty to put to strategic use here as you grab fruit and slam into a drop zone whilst remembering to ensure that your opponents don't get to their own drop zone unscathed. We're ready to rumble as soon as this one lands.
