Re: Review: RIDE (Xbox One)

It was a bit of a fluffed release for sure. I had it preordered for Xbox One but when the delay came I opted for the PS4 release instead. But the store I'd ordered from didn't get their stock and I didn't get it on release day...I then tried 3 local shops all of which hadn't received their stock either...so I gave up.

I then sadly played the demo this week and decided not to buy.,

If companies want to capitalise on early adopters and preorders they really need to get the release coordinated perfectly. It doesn't help that the PS4 version launched on the same day as Bloodborne either, so retailers didn't really care much about the title.

I've been eagerly awaiting MKX for ages and cannot wait to play it next week!

That said, I'm getting mighty tired of day 1 patches. I live out in the sticks with what equates to a 2MB connection, so day 1 patches mean I don't play until day 2. Gutting.

I really miss the days of buying finished games in a retail box. It seems that is most definitely a thing of the past now, your box and disc are essentially a download code. Why they don't just delay the game by another week I have no idea. It only builds more hype in the end.

But hey, no point complaining as I'm stupid enough to pre-order everything in the first place

FINALLY, I've been wanting a physical release since its announcement. Each to their own and all, but when I download a F2P game, I have no urge whatsoever to ever play it. When I walk into a shop and buy the game, it add's so much more value to it. Yeah, I know, I'm old
