Re: Microsoft Refunds $8k of In-Game FIFA Purchases to Canadian Parent

Only in the case of the 17 year old being a "special needs" 17 year old would I have refunded the money. Every gamer nowadays especially at 17 knows exactly how micro-transactions work and it notifies the individual of the transaction price before the content is purchased... Sorry Canadian Dad I would not have refunded a penny. But, luckily for you MS wanted some positive PR I suppose.

Re: Fully Charge Your Xbox One Controller in 60 Seconds With This New "Super Charger"

chuckyj1

@Fath No... really? You would still be charging the MS official battery less than 100% capacity... SO your Controllers battery will go bad faster... Anyone who owns an Xbox One knows you purchase the batter to use with the controller.... And when I state battery Conditioning... it's not clueless and will erode the life span of your battery a lot quicker over time... than using the official product in which, you get more than DOUBLE the playtime with the properly charged battery.

Re: Fully Charge Your Xbox One Controller in 60 Seconds With This New "Super Charger"

10-12 hours? That is garbage and will hurt your Xbox One Controller's battery charging capability long term...

On Amazon's site
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DBDPOZ4?keywords=xbox%20one%20plug%20and%20play%20charge%20kit&qid=1451943070&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

Microsoft's official Plug and Play offers up to 30 hours of gameplay on a single charge (under 4 hours).

Cutting that much playtime (only up to 12 hours) with this new recharging device will not be good for your battery with long term use. It will shorten the lifespan of your battery by a lot and will cripple the charge your battery will hold over time.

In short this device isn't charging your battery to 100% capacity and this will damage your battery's ability to reach the 30 hour charge, because of battery conditioning over time.

I'll pass on this and continue to use Microsoft's plug and play recharge device. The cord is long enough for me that when I'm playing it's not a distraction and allows me to get the most use out of your Xbox One Battery.

Re: Microsoft's Own Cloud Tech Could One Day Power PS4 Exclusives

chuckyj1

Microsoft as a whole is sooooooo much more than games, this doesn't surprise me at all. As a matter of fact they are trying to push the Azure Servers business Vs. Amazon and Google's Server business... So in that respect if they are trying to grow one area their business they aren't going to deny companies from paying to use the service right?

And it's not like "Cloud" computing technology is a MS only technology... I suppose MS would rather have game companies pay them to use the "Cloud" rather than have Amazon or Google set up the same offering for game "cloud" computing and have the same type of "Cloud" powered games for rival console companies be made through their competing server companies.

Re: Rumor: Konami Ceasing Triple-A Game Development

meh... that just means they are going mercenary... They will still develop (funded) AAA exclusives. They will keep ahold of their IPs and see who wants them on their system the most (Sony, MS or Nintendo). Who will pony up the most and for what IP as an exclusive.

Re: Locked In: Microsoft Purchases Minecraft Developer Mojang

chuckyj1

They will currently support Minecraft 1 on PS 3&4, iOS and Andriod systems... But don't think for a second that Minecraft 2 or whatever it will be called will be available outside MS owned hardware (Xbox, Win 8.1 or 9 or Windows phone). They will probably also release a Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone version of the current Minecraft with exclusive features.

I'm not big into Minecraft, but my daughter is pretty big into it now. I could see a Special edition Minecraft customized Xbox 1 bundle in the future. If there is going to be another generation of Xbox I could almost guarantee Minecraft 2 at launch.

Re: Crytek Confirms Ryse is Jumping To PC

@PeTitosaurus
If MS funded the first game a PS4 port may be out of the cards... Depends on the fine print of the deal. However, since Crytek still owns the IP a sequel may hit the PS4.

Re: Microsoft Looking to Shut Down Xbox Entertainment Studios

chuckyj1

I don't care. Too be quite honest I was confused to why MS would want to enter such a market anyway. Honestly this is more of a venue that Sony is set up for with all it's movie studios.

MS doesn't have any movie studios and has never been known for T.V. shows, documentary's or even movies. It was a huge waste of time and money setting up XES.

Re: Nyko Zoom for Kinect Hits Europe in August

chuckyj1

@userwords
My understanding is it reduces the space required from the Kinect to your play space. It doesn't shrink your actual play area... Why would shrinking the space required from the TV to the players reduce fun 40%??

But, I'll deff. wait for reviews to see how it actually works and how effectivle it is.

Re: Nyko Zoom for Kinect Hits Europe in August

chuckyj1

If this really does not affect the gameplay mechanics...then I'll be picking one up. It would have been nice if MS would have got behind this product, because if it works perfectly and requires up to 40% less space it is a great peripheral for Kinect. MS may have just wished they came out with the product 1st maybe???
