Good write up but two things stand out which let this down. 1) the need of a controller to navigate through menus? Come on it's Kinect... "Your the Controller" and 2) the need for room. If anything lets the system down its the difference in floorspace certain games require. It will be interesting to try this game though, the customisable plans is something which is lacking in the Your Shape so I've put this on order to see
These would be a great idea and the price is a bargain when compared to other arcade games. Microsoft, I think, are really set to make a killing with technology... the patent applications would be fun to see
I must be the odd one out then here becasue I love this game; more to the point I love playing Reflex Ridge and the raft game.
Okay it's not for everyone and its really not as fun on your own as it is with friends, but for something fun to do with mates it really is great.
The living trophys are a bit of sillyness and the pictures it takes makes you look stupid... there are worse games out there and as this comes standard with every Kinect you all have it so why not just do what it's there for... a bit of silly fun.
I bought this game specifically to help me with my weighloss and it does give you a really good work out. Although Gym Games section can be fun for burning calories the Fitness Classes works well but is a little empty. Your choices are Zen (which is more of a warm down) and Cardio Boxing which is broken in 3 stages (Bronze, Silver and Gold).
This is where the game falls down becasuse other than the Personal Trainer it would be the Fitness Classes that most people would use but really all the boxing comes down to is a set of moves which are the same in each stage, simply faster in each stage. It's clear that Your Shape will be releasing extra classes via DLC but it could have done with a bit more.
I have found, though, that at times the game does not register some of my moves no matter how much I try and copy the trailer (which can be frustrating) but I don't know whether that is becasue I have a large body at the moment as it follows my brothers moves quite well.
That said the interface is really nice and easy to navigate, the online tracking of your progress is an excellent feature and the game itself really does give you a good workout if you don't mind the current lack of Fitness Classes.
