Re: Get Excited for Xbox One's 2016 Lineup With This New Trailer

For what it is worth, in the "blink and you'll miss it" montage at the end, they did show Killer Instinct with Rash from Battletoads.

Scalebound is one of the reasons I purchased an Xbox One, but I am in no hurry to play it. Not that I am not excited for it, mind you. It is simply that it looks like it will be a massive game, and I still have plenty of games from last year that I need to play before I can even think of diving into such a major time sink.

I would also like to see more of ReCore before I form an opinion regarding it one way or the other. I am looking forward to Quantum Break, though I am still not entirely sold on the live action aspects. Granted, I almost never buy games at launch anymore, so that will give me plenty of time to give it more consideration.

It is a shame that they will not be releasing any content from The Force Awakens for Battlefront, though I suspect that is being saved for the inevitable Battlefront 2. However, given the release window and lack of information regarding the fourth Expansion Pack for this game, I would not be surprised if it included content from Rogue One, since it will still be around the general time frame of the original trilogy.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with it, though I feel I must add the caveat that it was my first real foray into online competitive multiplayer shooters. Also, I fully admit that, if it had not been a Star Wars title, I would not have even given it a second glance.

I can certainly understand the criticisms that it does not offer enough content for the asking price, but speaking as someone who has never really delved into the world of online competitive multiplayer shooters, it felt like it was perfectly designed to help ease my way into all of its features and offerings. The few times I attempted to play Call of Duty online with some friends, I was overwhelmed by the amount of options and content, so the scaled back approach of Battlefront did not especially bother me.

All of this is a rather roundabout way of saying that I was probably the target audience for this particular game, and in that sense, I think they succeeded. It had just enough content to keep me interested, but not so much that I felt like I was getting lost in the shuffle.

Re: Warner Bros. Confirms LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens for Xbox One, 360

I think the most interesting aspect of this, for me personally anyway, is the fact that it is going to cover some events from the ~30 year time period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. We still have only seen very little from this period, and I am really excited to see what they have in store.

That said, I find it rather curious that they would use a Lego game of all things to fill in some of the gaps. Then again, they are using a free-to-play mobile game, as well, so I suppose I should not be too surprised.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Eighty Eight

If I play anything this weekend (I have a stack of books I am currently working my way through, so I may be reading instead), I will probably go back to Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition so I can complete Lady and Trish's campaign. I recently beat Vergil's campaign after playing through the original as a refresher. I have not even touched Legendary Dark Knight Mode yet.

I must say Capcom really knocked it out of the park with both this and DmC: Definitive Edition. With more remasters on the way, I really hope they receive the same amount of care and attention as these two examples. I would love to see new content added to some of my favorite games from last generation.
