@Fiendish-Beaver do you think if Xbox released 2 years earlier than PlayStation they could use those 2 years to find a way to make theirs better or do you think it’s. Too late to make major changes in 2 years once Xbox is out
@PeteW I think game pass is actually the best deal it has been, ik the price has gone up but with how many games they’re finally able to release per year and the second half of 2024 they released good quality games that reviewed well. Before 2024 I wouldn’t say game pass was worth it with the inconsistency in releases and low quality even tho the price was cheaper.
@Balaam_ I don’t remember subscription being the only way to play a game if you want to own a game buy it if others want a cheaper way of playing the option is there
@Kilamanjaro I like a lot of what obsidian is doing, with grounded and pentiment. They said they want to make 7 games in 7 years so we’d be getting a good amount of smaller AA games from them
@Kilamanjaro I don’t think sales are ever the question I just think that Bethesda is up to industry standard. I will certainly play it but I’m not sure if it’s a game I’ll be able to go back to over and over like Skyrim
@Balaam_ I find almost every game intriguing but I will agree with you on elder scrolls 6, I want to like it but I don’t think anyone at Bethesda knows how to take constructive criticism and releasing probably around the Witcher 4 will not be good
@JokerBoy322 keep paying full price for games while everyone on Xbox will be saving money with game pass and you’ll be funding better games on Xbox so keep buying more games
@Cakefish I agree that’s the value proposition is decreasing because it’s harder to play more games in a year when it was 3 games a year was the value I think that’s the sweet spot but more is getting tough. Either way games I don’t play one year I will the next so with the increasing library Xbox will have there won’t be a full moment so game pass works for me
@Cakefish That wont be sustainable because people keep demanding more from games which increases cost. Either way as long as you see value in it. For me I can count 6 games I’m going to play next year on game pass which makes it worth it it’s getting to expensive to buy games on their own
@Cobra that’s true but if the main reason for game pass is just for online multiplayer that ultimate would not be the one growing. That’s because games are expensive and if you play 4 games a year on game pass you’re saving money that’s why it’s growing
@Cakefish okay they have 30+ million subscribers and it’s the cheapest way to play games, and they’re actually making better games now so more people will subscribe
Another article states that the game in question never had a 2025 release date publically stated so that rules out games that already had the 2025 release window
For someone who says I won’t buy an Xbox anymore please explain why. Game pass is still the best deal, they’re still making Xbox games and consoles because they’re not going to abandon 30+ million users
I don’t understand why people care so much, game pass is still the best deal and PlayStation will just give Xbox more money to make games and put more games in game pass. The only people who are complaining still care about the console wars, even Xbox doesn’t care about it anymore
Why is this such a bad idea, Xbox players who have game pass gets the games for free, PlayStation still has to buy the games. It’s more money for Xbox to make more games and people are seeing this as Xbox is a dead brand.
@TheSimulator I doubt it because it’ll be through steam since an Xbox is just a modified computer I think it’ll be difficult for them to block them on Xbox.
@OldGamer999 I have a feeling that Indy, avowed, doom, south of midnight and fable will all be 8/10 and above and I think that they can’t get out of the console business unless they put game pass on PlayStation. I’m thinking that their next console will be a combination of Xbox and pc where you can play steam games too which will allow Xbox players to also play PlayStation games.

I was really hoping for fable to be one of the games from how little we have seen so far

@BacklogBrad I hope avowed isn’t at the developer direct since it was in the last one with a bunch of review footage

@Mincey0 to clarify I do not think they messed up big time and they’re doing just fine and is needed to give PlayStation some competition

Re: Xbox Game Studios: All Microsoft First-Party Developers & What They're Working On
I also believe they can have a good 4-5 big games a year now. For 2026 we should get state of decay 3, perfect dark, gears, and of course another cod

@Cakefish most of game pass users are subscribed to ultimate if you’re saying it’s for online multiplayer than why isn’t everybody subscribed to core?

@Cakefish okay they have 30+ million subscribers and it’s the cheapest way to play games, and they’re actually making better games now so more people will subscribe
Re: Microsoft CEO: 'We Are Redefining What It Means To Be An Xbox Fan'
@Cakefish because they make their money from game pass not consoles

@Hexamex-Tex what will change with game pass? Won’t you still be getting the same games why is it bad for another console to play the game

@IOI why would the hardware business die out if 30 million game pass subscribers are on console
