when you turn a console in a PC like device, console gaming is simply DEAD!!!
Imo a PC is a jack of all trades, and always (still is) a Niche form of gaming. Optimizing, FOMO on next hardware, video editting, alot of free games, cheap games, but always willing to spend way more money on the latest GPU because in your ego you hate to see others playing games and brag on High settings while you are stuck on medium or low settings. PC gamers are pioneers with chasing technology, test out emulation to its hardest see if things will work, this is their dynamics.
console gamers are hardcore gamers to the fullest, from the first hour. they simply want to play the Fk out of their games they bought, being one with their console, less distraction, more exclusives less talk more playing games.
If MS decide to make Helix a digital only device, it it being swallowed by the many digital only devices popping up each month. MS need to go back to the basics and stop thinking that the origin xbox gamer is a PC gamer. Xbox gamers simply left the brand because Gamepass fk their heads and act spoiled. From not playing games and be able to have such stressed about what to play comes boredom. The PC is not a solution in all of this, it is a WORSE gaming experience, because you lose precious time on distraction.
I have been a hardcore PC gamer once, spending over 6000,- on a pc, it never gave me this good vibe about playing games, it was just fk annoying to lose time on anything else.... distraction. you have to be raised in PC to realy kept hook on it.
imo real console gamers will eventualy want back to console, and you bet they will complain why it got extincted and want it back.
the result of bragging about gamepass, but in the meantime, not capable of making a new exciting IP wich make people want a xbox, and people who buy xbox games.(the toll you pay when you give things for free)
xbox is an empty shell since 2014, because it has nothing to offer.
