Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 30-31)

It is still 29/30 degrees here today near London so fans on later as the room gets warm especially so with the XBOX hot air. I maybe in the minority here but as a Forza fan I really tried to get into Forza Horizon 6 and having played all the others for many hours (enjoying FH 1-3) but after a short while this was not for me this time as not much different to the previous two games so put it to rest for the time being. I am currently playing Avowed and enjoying that for a nice change.

I am one who is feeling much more positive with XBOX. I have been slowly moving back to XBOX Series X these last few months after trying a few games I play on PS5 over on Game Pass to compare them. I picked up a reasonable priced new controller with hall effects and very soft touch D-pad and good dual vibration and it makes a world of difference to games compared to the standard 'clicky' noisy one. They really need a better controller design next time, but keep the same layout.

After being used to PS5 for so long I forgot how many third party games (especially new UE5 games) run so much better on Series X at higher resolutions as it has more GPU than the PS5's. i.e some third party games run at 1620p-1800p and some nearly native 4k compared to 1080-1440p upscaled on PS5. Also the MS Edge app is very under rated, I use it quite a lot to quickly check you tube or reviews on games.

Digital refunds is a big thing to me too, PlayStation are very strict while I found XBOX/MS at least you have a chance if less than 2 hours play time. Overall I am watching and waiting to see what they come up with next and how Helix will be introduced. As next gen looks very expensive I was always going to be PS6 but now not sure. I think the last month they are saying all the right things but do feel some games should stay exclusive.
