Re: Xbox Co-Creator Calls VR 'Disappointing' As Sony Slashes Price Of PSVR2

It's excellent, I still use my Quest 2 through my PC. Or apps like Netflix. There is a significant selection of games on Steam. The Quest 2 wasn't particularly expensive when I bought it.

I think it is underutilised, VR would make an excellent teaching tool but isn't used very well. Fitness is great as well, but you need an expensive treadmill, and by expensive I mean overpriced, to really get use out of it.

I did get motion sickness at first but soon got used to it.

Re: Talking Point: Does Microsoft Have A '30FPS' Problem With Its Xbox Series X|S Output?

LMN118

A cap of 30FPS, around about this frame rate, and especially when it dips below that gives me eyestrain, headaches, nausea and dizziness.

Worth noting that capped at 30 doesn't mean it always runs at 30, Starfield frame rate tanked frequently.

The fact that the Series X is only borderline better than my Xbox One X, the cost involved and the fact it can barely keep up with my 10 year old PC is pretty shocking.

It is pretty much only console players who think such low frame rates are acceptable, even 60 is a relatively low target, where a game becomes acceptable. This is what you get when developers use game engines off the shelf.

Re: Microsoft's CEO Isn't A Fan Of Console Exclusives, Blames Sony

@Rafie True, but I suspect he knew the FTC wasn't going to be pedantic, bring about arguments from a time exclusives were exclusive because they were designed to be used on bespoke hardware and making them multi-platform meant making the game from scratch. Whereas today, tweaks are all that is needed since the consoles are basically small form factor PCs.

But, as you said all the players do it, doesn't make his opinion that exclusives are bad any less valid.

Re: Jim Ryan: Publishers 'Unanimously' Do Not Like Xbox Game Pass

LMN118

Yeah, can't speak for anyone else but the last games I paid for were buggy train wrecks, even from triple A studios. At least with game pass I can try stuff out. It also has led me to purchase DLC for those games I particularly enjoyed which is a benefit to publishers.

GP is better for no name, third party game developers. It gets them and their game noticed. Rather than being lost in thousands of crappy game releases (Talking to you Steam).

Re: Poll: How Many Xbox Games Have You Actually Bought This Year?

LMN118

Last game I bought was Aliens Fireteam which was broken for weeks after release. M$ refused (illegally) to refund, not only that but I couldn't get in touch with anyone being a completely automated customer service. The refund terms and conditions were deliberately opaque (also of dubious legality).

So I vowed never to purchase a game from them again. Kinda helps nearly all the releases in 2022 have been crap.
