Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 13-14)

Jeremist78

It's the other way around for me as my son is with me weekends so he hammers the Series X and my main TV and I get to play more in the week.

I still have my Fortnite challenges ritual, as I just enjoy the game and it's my chill out thing. Zero Build only though!

Having finally tore myself away from putting too much into EAFC (career mode was always my thing in the past) when the game infuriates me way more than is enjoyable, I'm now pushing myself to delve into a few games I've always wanted to explore along with a new one...

Currently beginning from scratch on GTA V, Red Dead 2, LA Noire, The Witcher 3, The Mass Effect Remasters and Assassins Creed Mirage.

My just go crazy and destroy everything blitzes are also Just Cause and Red Faction Guerrilla (picked the latter up for £3 something over Christmas and the destruction available is just SO good for the game's time. Still holds up for me too!)

Got many to get to aswell. The Resident Evil 4 remake is there along with the new versions of 2 and 3 (have all the games overall) and some others.

Re: Talking Point: 10 Years Later, What Do You Think Of 'The Master Chief Collection' In 2024?

Jeremist78

Had it downloaded forever and do mean to play through them all.

The fact of having to download the entire thing was always a sticking point. Not sure if that has changed or not, although it's not a big deal now as it will play from external drives rather than having to be on the internal.

That's the big issue at my end now. Way too little space internally and I refuse to pay extortionate prices for a new drive.

Re: Seven EA Games Are Included With Xbox Free Play Days This Week

Jeremist78

I've finally dragged myself away from EAFC after formerly being addicted to career mode mostly.

I'm tired of them continually screwing people by leaving all kinds of bugs and glitches in that mode whilst rushing and panicking to fix ultimate team ones because they make so much extra money off it. The game itself is also full of scripting and dodgy nonsense which was continually ruining my mood whenever I played even though I'd crave going back on it too. I feel like an addict that needed to go to a meeting 😂

It's a shame for me that there's no main rivals to most EA sports games. Save for 2K managing to kill off the NBA Live series, they hold a monopoly on licenses etc which seems to cripple any rival opportunities. I'm showing my age here but does anyone remember when 2K made an alternative to Madden many years ago? I'm pretty sure losing the NFL licenses to EA's Madden series killed that off.

For me licenses should never be able to be exclusive to one company. It just allows people to half ass games every year like EA do because they know so many people won't play a game with made up teams and names.

The way the former PES game now goes back and forth with them cherry picking individual teams and whatnot is only even more annoying because nobody has the full list of licenses. I wish it would change.

Re: Xbox Sets Target Date For Baldur's Gate 3 Deleted Saves Fix

Jeremist78

I nearly bought this because it looks and sounds SO good, but in the end decided to hold off for when the price drops a bit (and the save game issue helped with that decision too.)

It's also one of those where I'm attracted to it because of how huge it sounds and how many potential options there are, but I'm a pain for hording those games and then never doing them because I either don't give myself enough time to play them properly or I actually feel overwhelmed by the amount of options 🙄 yes, I'm special 🤷😂

Also was this not released physically or am I missing something? I had Amazon credit so kept searching it before I'd decided to wait and I only kept getting the guides showing up in searches? It's obviously in the store online but it seems Amazon have stopped you using credit to buy gift cards etc (don't get me started on that!) In the end I picked up the physical copy of Assassins Creed Mirage in the sale instead for now.

Re: Two Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (January 11)

Jeremist78

Interested to try both...

Baseball games intrigue me a little but I haven't got the time or patience for in depth learning, so this one seems like it could be a good choice (and not a huge install too.)

We Happy Few is one I had downloaded ages ago when it was previously on Game Pass but never got around to trying it. I like the look of the story, gave me some Bioshock vibes in a way. Now I'm finally off FIFA/EAFC (although still in Fortnite challenge zone) I'll definitely give it a go this time around.
