Re: Elite Dangerous Players Warn Of Downsides With Console Version On Xbox Game Pass

Ecstatic-Magician

I've been playing the Xbox version for years as since it has an offline mode I can actually enjoy based around my schedule. On PC there's one day a week where the game is unplayable and that day happens to fall on my day off so I had to refund it with a heavy heart. The game is great on Xbox, but it only has content upto the Horizons update , which I paid for when it came out and is now included in the base game I believe. Horizons added land expiration with a surface recon vehicle, character customization, and the ability to multi-crew large ships with your friends. While the grind to getting a quality ship might not be for everyone, for me, exploring the vastness of the Milky Way and selling cartography charts for exorbitant amounts and getting my taxi ship was well worth it. It literally looks like a taxi. And since the Xbox version was never truly patched for updates when they decided to cancel development 🙄, the Robigo Run, a mission that could net you upto 100 million credits per run, and helped me get my taxi ship still works the way it originally did. Unlike on PC where it has a refresh rate, on Xbox you can accept the mission, bring the passengers to the tourist beacon and back and then accept the mission and Robigo Rinse and Repeat. I suggest trying the game if you have any interest in astronomy or space stuff. Some might find it boring, but I honestly love the feelings of solitude that the game can bring while you're trying to find the orbital plane of a system to create star charts to sell.
