@Gabrie actually, most of what you stated is factually incorrect or misleading.
1. Shaders can take a few minutes, other times it can take more than 20 minutes, it really boils down to the hardware, specifically the cpu. Given that these are mobile chips in a sense they aren't crazy powerful so it can and will take a while to compile shaders.
2. It's also incorrect to say it's a one time process. Everytime a gpu driver is released? Guess what you're compiling shaders all over again. Oh the game release an update or patch? You're doing it all over again. So no, it's not just a one time thing. Those who actually game on Pc should know this.
3. And finally, the most egregious part of your comment: This not being as important because games can compile shaders while playing? When that happens you will be chugging and stuttering the whole way through and it's not a great experience. Because consoles share the same hardware, developers ship the shaders with the game and none of this is needed or even heard of. So that last hit here you just said is a fallacy. Tell me you've never played on pc without telling me.
Now to add my own 2 cents, this is great news. Steam Deck has been doing it for years now and I'm glad Windows is doing the same for the Xbox rog Ally.
