We always like to take an occasional look at the "Top Paid" Xbox charts to get a rough idea of how games are performing on the platform, particularly when it comes to new releases - and especially when they're unlikely hits.

At the moment, we've noticed multiple new games that are charting surprisingly high on there, with those including Halloween: The Game, Valheim, Active Matter, Samson - A Tyndalston Story, NASCAR 26 and Gladio Mori. Other high-performing games that are less of a surprise include RuneScape Dragonwilds and Control Resonant.

Halloween is the best performer of these at #6 in the charts, while Valheim is also at #10. They're surrounded by a ton of new sports releases (such as EA Sports FC 27), along with Minecraft and the aformentioned Control Resonant.

Four New Indie Games Are Charting Surprisingly High In The Xbox Charts To Begin October 2

Active Matter is also very high up in 12th position, while Samson is in 17th. You then have to go down to #38 for NASCAR 26 — but that's still a great spot for a somewhat niche racing game — while we've never even heard of Gladio Mori before, but it's somehow the 45th "top paid" game on Xbox right now according to these charts.

Of course, all of this should be taken with a pinch of salt due to how slowly Xbox updates its charts in general, but considering these games are all so high in the list, it's safe to suggest they've been selling pretty well at launch!

We'll leave you with more details on a bunch of these under-the-radar releases down below:

Halloween: The Game (#6)

It’s Halloween night, 1978, the unsuspecting families of the quiet suburban town of Haddonfield are making holiday preparations, and evil has made its way home. Take The Shape of Evil as Michael Myers or save your neighbors as a Hero of Haddonfield in Halloween, the ultimate asymmetrical horror sandbox.

Valheim 1.0 (#10)

Valheim is a collaborative exploration and survival game for 1-10 players set in a procedurally generated world inspired by Norse mythology. Craft powerful weapons, construct elaborate halls, and slay mighty foes to prove yourself to Odin!

Active Matter (#12)

You’re an operative stuck in a time loop, always brought back from the dead to the same point. Choose your loadout and enter quantum unstable zones rich with active matter – the most valuable and the most dangerous resource in all multiverse. Fight against rivals from other timelines, survive physics-breaking anomalies and try to stay alive. Harvest active matter, gather loot and extract to a safe place before the whole zone ceases to exist with everything inside it.

Samson - A Tyndalston Story (#17)

Samson comes home to the worst streets of Tyndalston, a place that built him hard and never forgave him. Muscle, speed, and nerve decide who stays upright. Close-quarters fights, tight corners, and no room for hesitation. He learned violence before he learned mercy, and the city hasn’t forgotten. Every clash matters. Every hit is meant to break or be broken. You cut through alleys, rooftops, and backroom dens designed to keep you moving, not sightseeing. Tyndalston shapes how you fight, climb, corner, and vanish. It’s familiar ground, but never safe ground.

NASCAR 26 (#38)

Battle your way through all four NASCAR National Series in Career, Quick Race, Championship, Multiplayer, or our all new mode featuring The Chase! And, with all the laser scanned assets of iRacing, the level of authenticity has never been higher with dynamic track, an all new peak performance training mode, and enhanced driving physics across every chassis. And, with our new cross-play multiplayer feature, you can take on all your friends and show them who's best!

Gladio Mori (#45)

Gladio Mori is a physics-driven fighting game that redefines the gladiator arena. Whether playing solo or challenging others in multiplayer battles, you’ll wield razor-sharp weapons and unleash unique moves in brutal, tactical combat. Every decision, swing, and step matters as you carve your path to victory.
