Can you believe we'll finally be playing Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox in just a few weeks' time?! Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2 officially releases on August 27th, and we now have full resolution and FPS details for it.
Konami has listed the "platform specifications" for each version of MGS 4 over on their official website, and it confirms that Metal Gear Solid 4 will run at 4K, 60FPS on Xbox Series X and 1440p, 60FPS on Xbox Series S. It's worth noting those are the output resolutions, whereas the internal resolutions are "up to" those figures.
We also know that it'll be around 26GB in size if you just download Metal Gear Solid 4.
Meanwhile, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will feature the same "max output" resolutions for each Xbox console, but with multiple different modes to choose from including "Original", "Adjusted", "High Resolution" and "Custom".
We don't have all the details on these yet, but you can see a comparison video for "High Resolution" below:
If you're interested, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2 is now available to pre-order on the Xbox Store at a price of £44.98 / $49.99, and that version includes Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and various other bonuses such as Metal Gear Ghost Babel - the first handheld entry in the series from 2000.
We also expect the two main games in the package to be made available separately post-release, so maybe hold tight if you only want to play Metal Gear Solid 4. In any case, we can't wait to check out at least one of these new releases in late August, and here's hoping it delivers easily the best version of MGS4 consoles have ever seen!
