Ubisoft just announced Rainbow Six Tactics, an upcoming turn-based tactical single-player game for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The trailer showcases the shift in perspective for the series, with a top-down view on its breach and clear combat. Instead of aiming down the barrel of a gun, you'll coordinate breaches, and "adapt as missions unfold". Here's a brief description of the game:
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics is a turn-based tactical game set in the R6 universe. Command operator squads in tense battles, execute synchronized breaches, exploit destruction, and unravel a conspiracy.
Rainbow Six Tactics will include:
- 15 Operators, each with unique abilities, specialized gadgets, and distinct skill trees
- Distinct mission types, including Hostage Rescue, Bomb Disposal, and Target Elimination
- Over 45 diverse locations around the world
Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live is still in full swing, but we were particularly impressed with the new spin on Rainbow Six. There's no word on release as of yet, but it is coming to Xbox and PC. We'll leave you with some images.
